This season, our #McCueFavorites are tuned into our new binge-worthy obsessions and inspiring literary gems. Read on to learn more about our favorite things.

Food, wine and travel rule out world here at McCue and from our current selection of favorites, it’s quite obvious. We love “Salt Fat Acid Heat” by Samin Nosrat! We agree these four elements are the backbones to any great meal, so why not read about something we totally love. Bingeing the Netflix series is a must, but the book is an extra treat we are currently indulging in.  Food is already the center of our lives, but the notion is reaffirmed as we read Michael Pollan’s “In Defense of Food.” We’ve seen the error of our ways of eating “edible food-like substances” and have made this our guide regarding real food.

You know who else loves food… Jjiro Ono. We may be late, but Jiro Dreams of Sushi has touched our hearts with his passion for sushi and by sharing his relationship with his family. We’ve talked all about food and now we are washing it all down with Bon Appétit Magazine Wine Columnist Marissa A. Ross. With her book “Wine. All The Time.: A Casual Guide to Drinking,” we are brushing up on our wine knowledge while refueling our love for great glasses of reds, whites and the great destinations they come from.

Going about our everyday lives, it’s nice to know we are not alone in the daily thick of it. For a fun dose of the “messiness of being human”, we have tuned into the podcast, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard. Do you know who else is a messy human… Fleabag. The witty British comedy-drama truly shows us that life can be a big mess, but you have to work to make the best of it. As working professionals we all know the difficulty of having work-life balance, so we are literally taking pages out of “The Blue Zones, Second Edition: 9 Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who’ve Lived the Longest” by Dan Buettner to get a few tips on how to live a long, healthy and happy life.
